Discover the Maple Ridge Ale Trail

The newest portion of the self-guided BC Ale Trail, the Maple Ridge Ale Trail, is launching September 21 at the Haney Farmers Market event in Memorial Peace Park, Maple Ridge, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Meet and greet the Minister of Tourism, Honourable Lisa Beare and Mayor Michael Morden during the opening ceremony at 10:00 AM and enjoy farm fresh fruit and vegetable displays, craft beer and appetizer tastings, beer and food pairing seminars and homegrown entertainment for a taste of Maple Ridge.

The event is an opportunity to learn more about the booming BC craft brew industry which is destined to be home to 200 small craft breweries by the end of 2019. In the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows area there are four craft breweries with a new brewery planned for 2020.

The current local craft breweries include Foamers Folly Brewing, Maple Meadows Brewing, Ridge Brewing and Silver Valley Brewing. The creative and innovative brew masters from each of the four breweries will be working together on a collaborative Maple Ridge Ale Trail Saison beer which will be tapped for tasting at the market event and available while supplies last throughout the Oktoberfest season, September 21 to October 6.

Beginning September 21, participants can visit the four breweries to obtain a commemorative stein and passport that includes a self-guided map to take along the ale trail to the local craft beer establishments and the three participating neighbourhood pub partners: the Black Sheep Pub, The Reach Neighbourhood Pub & Grill and Kingfishers Waterfront Bar and Grill. A series of Oktoberfest-themed events and activities will be part of the two week celebration and include entertainment, music trivia, bingo, brewery tours and pairing seminars at participating establishments.

The Ale Trail initiative is a marketing campaign that highlights our world-class breweries amid British Columbia’s spectacular wilderness scenery. Maple Ridge is sure to inspire travelers with cozy craft beer tasting rooms, excellent farm-to-table cuisine, and numerous opportunities for outdoor adventure and urban cultural experiences.
