Spring is here! The weather is warming up all across British Columbia — blossoms are blooming and bees are buzzing around them. Many of your favourite local breweries are releasing special beers to celebrate the season.
Here is a round-up of more than 75 spring-themed beers from BC craft breweries. Lots of them feature berries or fruit, while others offer up floral aromas. Sour beer lovers will not be disappointed and neither will hopheads who crave IPAs year-round. If you’re looking for something new to try you’re sure to find it here.

Brewhalla Waterways Black Currant Hazy Pale — Langley Loop collaboration (5% ABV)
This special collaboration beer was brewed at Trading Post Brewing by eight of the local breweries in conjunction with Langley Craft Beverage Week and the Brewhalla Beer & Music Festival held at Fort Langley over the May long weekend. A portion of the beer proceeds will be donated to Watersheds BC.

La Tayr – Saskatoon Berry and Kelp Gose by Locality Brewing (3.8% ABV | 10 IBU)
This unique gose showcases fruity Saskatoon berries and salty kelp in a deliciously sour beer. Brewed with BC malt, Saskatoon berries, kelp, and sea salt, it has a perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours. Locality is also hosting a Métis Festival at their brewery on June 3 from 10 am to 4 pm in conjunction with the Waycea Métis Society.

Nautical Nonsense Pineapple Sour with Pink Sea Salt by Slackwater Brewing (4% ABV | 8 IBU)
This tasty gose-style beer won best beer in the Sour- Fruited category at the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale in April.

Utopia Pineapple Sour by Howe Sound Brewing (4.9% ABV | 8 IBU)
This salty & sour beer was made with coriander and pineapple puree.

Cucumber Kölsch by Camp Beer Co. (5.1% ABV)
Yes, cucumber is a fruit! This year’s Spring Camp beer is a delicious cucumber-infused German-style kölsch that is supremely light and refreshing.

Strawberry Sour by Nelson Brewing (4.2% ABV)
This easy-drinking kettle sour was made with loads of delicious fresh strawberries.

Raspberry Margarita Gose by Bright Eye Brewing (5% ABV | 0 IBU)
This gorgeous beer is a tart ale brewed with lots of raspberries, lime and sea salt.

Two Gose-style beers from Phillips Brewing:
- Parrot Eyes Lime Margarita Gose (4.5% ABV | 4 IBU) Zesty, tangy, and refreshing, this margarita-inspired beer is packed with notes of freshly squeezed lime, sea salt, and tequila.
- Mojo Orange Mango Gose (4.5% ABV | 4 IBU) This has an upfront blast of fresh mango and orange juice with a tart, salty and refreshing finish.
Apricot Lemon Blanche by Field House Brewing (5% ABV | 18 IBU)
A classic Belgian-style Blanche base, which is spicy, fruity, and effervescent, is augmented with loads of blended apricots and a light dose of lemon for a touch of acidity.

Fruity (Beer) #1 – Barry Brut by Shaketown Brewing (4% ABV | 7 IBU)
Citrus and lemon flavours on the nose lead into flavours of orange soda, slightly tart blackberry and subtle lemon bitterness in the finish. It’s not too sweet and it’s not sour.

Hyde Kriek Cherry Sour by Tinhouse Brewing (6.5% ABV | 7 IBU)
Inspired by Hyde Creek in Port Coquitlam, and drawing homage to Belgian Kriek lambic beers, this double-soured seasonal ale features dark cherries.

Tropical Sour Mix Pack by Moody Ales & Co.:
This beachy mixed pack features four sour ales flavoured with delicious, tropical fruits: Pineapple Coconut, Lime Margarita, Mango Guava & Orange Passionfruit (each one is 5% ABV).
Raspberry Wheat Ale by Trading Post Brewing (7.5% ABV | 7 IBU)
A gorgeous patio favourite that is brewed with real raspberry purée.

Patio Lanterns by Sooke Oceanside Brewery (7.8% ABV | 15 IBU)
This Brut-style apricot ale is a dangerously crushable patio pleaser.
Mimosa Hazy IPA by Dead Frog Brewery (6.7% ABV | 24 IBU)
A bubbly and crisp combination of a hopped up Hazy IPA and fresh orange juice with a brisk, dry finish.

Margarita Sour by Tapworks Brewing (4.6% ABV | 10 IBU)
Packed with “an absolutely loco amount of lime and the perfect amount of salt,” this is the ideal beer for margarita lovers… And who doesn’t love a margarita??

Lavender Lemon Blonde Ale by Old Yale Brewing (5% ABV | 20 IBU)
Absolutely bursting with a floral, zesty, and bright character, the beer was brewed with local lavender and lemon peel.

One fruited sour and a Belgian-style wit from Sidekick Brewing:
- Student Intern Jade Apricot Plum Sour (5.5% ABV | 9 IBU) Plum and apricots were added to this kettle sour to provide a fruity, tangy, and delightfully tart beer.
- Lab Partner Yousef (5% ABV | 18 IBU) A pale, hazy Belgian for sunny patio days, this witbier boasts a grainy, tangy malt character, and with the addition of sweet orange peel, grains of paradise, and coriander.
Two fruity sours from Faculty Brewing:
- 356 Raspberry Lemon Sourweisse (5.2% ABV | 16 IBU) Thanks to the added raspberry and lemon, this beer is millennial pink, fruity and refreshing.
- 123 Sourveza (4.3% ABV | 5 IBU) A fusion of styles inspired by both a classic Mexican light lager and a citrus-forward kettle sour, this beer was fermented with kveik yeast and conditioned on lime zest and lime juice.
A berry beer, a new Pilsner and a classic British ale from Cannery Brewing:
- Okanagan Daze Berry & Lime Wheat Ale (5% ABV | 25 IBU) This new version of Okanagan Daze is fermented with raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and lime.
- Birra Bellissima (5% ABV | 34 IBU) This “beautiful beer” is an Italian-style Pilsner that was brewed with European hops and malts.
- Meadowlark Pub Ale (4.5% | 20 IBU) This classic English-style pale ale has a moderate malt flavour with a touch of caramel.
Stardust Mixed Fruit Sour by Mariner Brewing (5% ABV | 5 IBU)
Stardust is a fruit cup-inspired kettle sour packed with peach, pear, pineapple, and sweet cherry.
“This is a very special beer for us as two of our brewers were the first two to ever win the Diversity in Brewing scholarship from the Kwantlen Brewing program. This scholarship is dedicated to supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ brewing students, while also being a grassroots initiative that looks to celebrate and support diversity in the craft beer industry. To give back to our community, part of the proceeds from our Stardust Sour will be donated to KPU’s Diversity in Brewing scholarship to support future students.”
A sherbety beach beer and a special collaboration with Dageraad from Main St. Brewing:
- Hula Hula Tropical Sour (5.4% ABV) Back by popular demand, this new version of this Hawaiian Island-inspired sour is vegan-friendly because they used maltodextrin instead of lactose. Even better, it’s available on tap all season long at Vancouver Canadians games at Nat Bailey Stadium.
- Frontière French Pale Ale (5.4% ABV | 18 IBU) This collaboration with Dageraad Brewing was inspired by French craft brewery Brasserie Thieriez (located near the border of Belgium) and its passionate approach to saison.
Two brand new low-alcohol beers and a tasty tropical sour from Fernie Brewing:
- LOGO Pilsner & LOGO Hazy IPA (0.5% ABV) Fernie has joined the recent trend of BC craft breweries making low-alcohol beers.
- Enduro Mango Pineapple Sour (5% ABV | 10 IBU) Filled to the brim with mango and pineapple puree, this sour ale packs a fruity punch.
Two new beers from Tin Whistle Brewing:
- Cucumber Lemon Saison (5% ABV | 20 IBU) A dry, refreshing saison brewed with BC greenhouse-grown cucumbers and a hint of fresh lemon on the finish.
- Good Things New England Micro IPA x Lager (4% ABV | 26 IBU) A wild mashup of two very different styles: a New England-style IPA brewed with lager yeast.
Chazzle Dazzle by Giant’s Head Brewing (5.4% ABV | 20 IBU)
A fun cherry-infused take on the brewery’s Razzle Dazzle Raspberry Vanilla Creme Ale.

Who Spiked The Punch? by Backroads Brewing (4.6% ABV | 5 IBU)
Mango, guava, and strawberry puree are added to this Catharina-style sour for a tropical, fruity, and gently sour ale.

Two fruit-infused beers from Copper Brewing in Kelowna:
- Kelrona (4.8% ABV) A Mexican lager with lime.
- Peach Hibiscus Wheat Ale (5.5% ABV | 15 IBU) Tastes like a bellini in a glass.

Beach Lemon Mandarin Radler by Strathcona Beer Co. (4% ABV | 15 IBU)
A refreshing, precise blend of beer, lemon and mandarin juice.

Midday Mimosa by Abandoned Rail Brewing (5.2% ABV | 18 IBU)
This perfect patio beer has lots of orange and citrus on the nose.

Two new beers from Bayview Brewing in Ladysmith:
- Cherry Poppins – Cherry French Toast Sour (4.5% ABV | 5 IBU) More than a few spoonfuls of maple syrup, lactose, cinnamon, vanilla and cherries help this dessert kettle sour beer go down.
- SMaSH Experience (6.6% ABV | 35 IBU) This single malt and single hop IPA is brewed with Gambrinus ESB pale malted barley and Nectaron hops from New Zealand, and then fermented with Lallemand’s Verdant Yeast. All of these meld together to give a bright, tropical, citrusy, and stone fruit punch to the kisser.
A lemon sour and a beer with coconuts from Wildeye Brewing in North Vancouver:
- Limoncello Sour (5.8% ABV) Fresh and tart with a refreshing sweetness making this beer the perfect way to kick off the hot weather.
- Migratory Coconuts (6.5% ABV) A limited release beer that blends smooth and refreshing flavours with an intense citrus and coconut character.

Two refreshing beers from Four Winds Brewing:
- Spritzy Sour – Cherry & Lime (4% ABV) A spritzy, light sour ale with a big juicy punch packed with cherry and lime.
- Four Winds Light (3.5% ABV | 12 IBU) Crisp, clean and easy drinking.

Three fruity beers from Shore Line Brewing in Kelowna:
- Birdie Juice (4.5% ABV | 15 IBU) A refreshing blonde ale made with tangerine, grapefruit, and blood orange puree.
- 360 Pineapple Hazy Pale Ale (5.2% ABV | 20 IBU) This tropical hazy pale ale was made with coriander, orange zest, and pineapple puree, then dry-hopped with Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops for intense aromatics of tropical and citrus fruits.
- Daily Rind (4.5% ABV | 20 IBU) A crushable Kölsch with a splash of watermelon splash.

And now for something a little different — How about beers brewed with flowers, herbs and other unusual ingredients?
Three versions of the Mayne Island Forager by Mayne Island Brewing (5.5% ABV)
The folks at Mayne Island Brewing use seasonally foraged ingredients in this wild-crafted saison so at this time of year you can try one made with juniper berries, which results in gin notes, or the ever-popular nettle-infused Forager with notes of licorice and green tea. Or for a third option, you can also try the Naked Forager Dry-Hopped Saison.

Three floral beers by Howl Brewing (5.5% ABV)
- Spring Gruit (5% ABV | 0 IBU) A medieval style of hop-free ale made with mugwort, yarrow, bay leaves, spruce tips, rosemary, dandelion, juniper branches, and old man’s beard.
- Spruce Elderflower Ale (5% ABV | 20 IBU) A light-bodied pale ale made with local barley, spruce tips, and elderflower.
- Amethyst Belgian Ale (5% ABV | 18 IBU) A Belgian-style pale ale with a beautiful purple hue made with elderflower, lavender and butterfly pea flowers.

Dill Pickle Gose by R&B Brewing (4.5% ABV | 12 IBU)
I could have put this in the fruit beer category but I decided to go for “weird beer” instead! This strangely refreshing beer is made with fresh cucumber juice from the folks at Juice Truck.
Mare Oyster Pilsner by Luppolo Brewing in collaboration with Land & Sea Brewing (5.5% ABV)
This unique style of Pilsner breaks out of its shell with 100% Vancouver Island Pilsner malt from Field Five Farm and 100% local Sterling hops from Barnside Brewing. Oyster shells from Fanny Bay were used to modify the water profile giving the beer a nice salinity and a complex minerality. It pours a bright straw-yellow with a pearly white head. Expect aromas of the ocean alongside bright lemon and fresh cut grass.

Gusano Gose by Île Sauvage Brewing (5.5% ABV)
This definitely fits the “unusual ingredient” category — it’s a gose brewed with Gusano salt (Mezcal worm salt with chilis), coriander, and orange, then dry hopped with Lotus hops and conditioned on Mezcal barrel oak chips. If you don’t know what “worm salt” is, well let me just say this is the first beer from Île Sauvage that isn’t vegan… Don’t worry, though. It tastes great!
Red Squirrel Spruce Tip Session Ale by Ursa Minor Brewing (4% ABV)
Inspired by the spruce beer provided by the Hudson Bay Company to the voyageurs after a gruelling day of paddling, this red ale is flavoured with locally foraged spruce tips and a touch of blackstrap molasses. It’s purported to ward off scurvy as well.
IPAs for spring?? Why not! IPAs are great all year round.
Disco Pig Double Dry Hopped IPA by Noble Pig Brewhouse (7% ABV | 25 IBU)
A New England-influenced India Pale Ale,made with Citra hops, and dry hopped with a “double” amount of Talus hops.

Zombie Orchestra Cold IPA by Strange Fellows Brewing (6.5% ABV | 40 IBU)
The Cold IPA style aims to merge the hops of an IPA with the crispness of a lager. The use of rice in this brew contributes to its dry light body while double dry hopping strengthens its bold hop character. Its short-lived and upfront bitterness balances with its crisp and very clean finish.

Tropical Storm Hazy IPA by Lighthouse Brewing (6.5% ABV | 38 IBU)
Crafted with thiolozed yeast and using mash hopping, this veer packs a punch of juicy tropical flavours, tropical aromas, and distinct notes of guava and passionfruit.
Don’t Feed The Bears White IPA by Black Kettle Brewing (6% ABV | 40 IBU)
Brewed with wheat and oats, this beer has a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and a persistent haze with aromas of light clove and banana, and a little citrus spice on the finish.
Black Kettle hosts a patio concert series on Saturdays from 6-9pm.

A Biotransformed IPA and a classic Belgian-style Wit from Dageraad Brewing in Burnaby:
- Daybreak IPA (6% ABV) This IPA is dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Sultana, Galaxy and Citra hops, and fermented with thiol-forming yeast for a huge hit of fruit with a touch of underlying West Coast dankness.
- White (5% ABV) A Belgian-style witbier with a twist: a sprinkle of peppery grains of paradise and a pinch of sumac for a bright, citrusy aroma as well as a subtle earthiness.

Bikes Hazy Pale Ale by Bridge Brewing (4.3% ABV | 40 IBU)
OK, this isn’t quite a full IPA, but this hazy pale ale is juicy with balanced bitterness from a variety of hops. Big flavour, aroma and drinkability — an ideal post-ride reward.

Surfrider Tropical IPA by Vancouver Island Brewing (6% ABV | 40 IBU)
Bold tropical hop flavours crash forward using experimental thiol libre yeast. A refreshing way to celebrate a local beach cleanup.
My Island India Session IPA by Wolf Brewing (4.2% ABV | 40 IBU)
This special release is only available in 473ml cans at the brewery and at Mid Island Liquor stores.
A Hazy Pale Ale and a German-style Kölsch from Container Brewing in Vancouver:
- Harmonious Proximity (4.6% ABV) This hazy features special southern hemisphere hops: Riwaka (New Zealand), which is prized for intense sweet fruit and citrus aromas; and Vic Secret (Australia), which is known for its unique contributions of pineapple and passionfruit.
- Victory Lap (4.7% ABV) This is a crisp, balanced and crushable German-style kölsch.

Simcoe Sunset by Spinnakers Brewpub (6.5% ABV)
This full-bodied beer was dry hopped with Simcoe for a big tropical fruity aroma.

This Cerveza has a crisp malt backbone that is bolstered by the soft sweetness of corn and subtle herbaceous hops.

Maibock, The Lonely Goat by Red Collar Brewing (6.4% ABV | 30 IBU)
Golden in colour with a malty body, this is a traditional German lager brewed in celebration of Fruhlingsfest, a Spring Festival that takes place in Germany from April to May each year.

Silver Flood by Twa Dogs Brewery (5.4% ABV | 12 IBU)
The “original hazy” — a Belgian-style wit with a thirst-quenching, juicy finish.

Lazy Dalmatian by the Firehall Brewery (5% ABV | 7 IBU)
A dark cerveza-style lager that is light, crisp, and smooth — celebrating the camaraderie between dogs and dog-lovers on Firehall’s patio.

Jasmine Rice Pilsner by BNA Brewing (4.5% ABV | 25 IBU)
This pilsner was brewed with aromatic jasmine rice and lime-forward Motueka hops, resulting in a hint of malt sweetness that is well balanced with pleasant, mild, bitter notes.
