t has been an incredibly rough year for all of us and it is heartening to know that everyone on the Sunshine Coast has come together and has been doing their part. We at the Sunshine Coast Sledders are trying to forge ahead to some sort of normalcy and bring our community back together again.

Prior to the world coming to a halt, we were well on our way to raising funds for an emergency shelter. We have held several fundraising events in the last few years and we are getting closer and closer to our goal but we still need help to get there!

At the Sunshine Coast Sledders Snowmobile Club, we help to keep local riding areas open for our community as well as aid Search & Rescue when they need us and always answer phone calls or texts from loved ones of someone who hasn’t come down off the mountain. We are looking to build an emergency shelter in the local backcountry so that should the terrible happen, there is somewhere that anyone in the community can go to. While we have been working with Forestry and Roads to gain access and have secured space, we are still working to get everything finalized and need more funds to make it all happen.
We will be holding an auction and beer and burger fundraiser at the 101 on Saturday, January 22, 2022, and we are looking for your support to help us achieve our mission of an emergency shelter on the Sunshine Coast.
