Trout Lake in John Hendry Park

At the south end of The Drive sits John Hendry Park, home of Trout Lake — a gorgeous 27-hectare park and the only place in Vancouver with a lifeguarded freshwater beach, making it a refreshing alternative to the city’s ocean shores. It’s a wonderful spot for a lakeside stroll, a picnic on the grass, or letting the dog off-leash at the north end of the lake. On Saturdays from May through October, the Trout Lake Farmers Market brings the park to life with fresh produce, artisan baked goods, live music, and a real sense of local community.
