British Columbia’s craft beer story starts long before the first pint is poured. It begins in the fields, orchards and farms that grow the ingredients, support local producers and shape the communities our breweries call home.
The trail brings those connections together in one self-guided journey across British Columbia. Anchored by farm-based breweries, the trail also connects travellers with farm-based cideries, BC Farmers’ Markets, local food producers, agritourism experiences and unique farm stays.
Many of the breweries featured here were farms first. Some have been worked by the same families for generations, long before a brewhouse or taproom became part of the landscape. Today, these businesses are finding new ways to connect agriculture and craft brewing — growing ingredients, sourcing from neighbouring farms and producers, giving brewing byproducts new life, and keeping more of every dollar within their local communities.
Along the way, you might wander through a farmers market, visit a u-pick orchard, tour a working farm, meet an artisan food producer, stay overnight among the fields or sit down for a pint brewed just steps from where some of its ingredients were grown.

Brand new in 2026, the Parksville Downtown Farmers Market brings together farmers and food producers in the heart of downtown Parksville. Every Sunday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm from May 31 to Oct 25, the parking lot at 133 McMillan Street comes alive with the season’s best local harvest.
Rusted Rake is a family-owned, farm-based craft brewery where the team grows and harvests their own barley before brewing it into beer, served alongside locally sourced kitchen fare in a welcoming tasting room and patio setting. The beer itself is crafted by industry veteran Dave Woodward, whose 20-year career has earned a reputation for award-winning brews across BC.
