Join Alek Egi, KPU Brewing instructor, for an information session and open house at the KPU Brew Lab on Feb. 21 from 7-8:30 pm in Langley. Enjoy a tour of KPU’s award-winning teaching brewery and tastings of student-brewed beers, as well.*

Originally from Europe, Alek is familiar with the older and more traditional styles of the malting and brewing industry. He moved to Canada to complete his Masters of Food Science at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, then worked at the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre in Winnipeg for 13 years as a brewing manager and malting specialist before moving to BC to become a faculty member at KPU. Alek’s knowledge of traditional European brewing concepts combined with years of professional experience in the Canadian beer industry give him a unique perspective when it comes to observing emerging new trends in brewing.
