Maple Ridge

Explore scenic beauty and bountiful craft beer.

Tucked between the Golden Ears Mountains and the Fraser River, Maple Ridge is a scenic, forested community with a remarkable natural beauty — and a bounty of local craft breweries, taphouses and restaurants.

Scenic Maple Ridge and nearby Pitt Meadows have plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to hike or bike along nearly 200 kilometres of accessible trails offering views of majestic mountains, rolling farmland, refreshing streams, rivers and lakes, and wildlife such as eagles, hawks, herons and cranes. Afterwards, quench your thirst at any of the four local breweries: Foamers’ Folly Brewing, Maple Meadows Brewing, Ridge Brewing and Silver Valley Brewing.

Explore local historic and heritage sites and uncover a deep-rooted past: Maple Ridge has been the home of the Katzie and Kwantlen First Nation for over 10,000 years. Traditionally, Maple Ridge was known by its Halkomelem name Q’wa?acstan’ which translates into “place where the golden eagles are.” Indeed, a downtown art mural created by Kwantlen First Nation artist Brandon Gabriel celebrates the rich culture and history by depicting two golden eagles superimposed over the Golden Ears Mountains.

Food lovers will quickly discover that Maple Ridge has a flourishing bistro culture, along with gastropubs, food trucks, taphouses and quaint cafes. Many offer dishes made with local ingredients grown on neighbouring farms. Visit the Haney Farmers Market on Saturdays to meet the local growers and discover the work of talented artisans, and grab a bite and a beer at Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill, or the Witchcraft Beer Market and Bistro any day of the week. Billy Miner Ale House and Cafe provides an authentic alehouse experience that is steeped in its own heritage.
